About and rules

Who makes Acontece Bem and how the guides are written.

Acontece Bem is a free Portuguese site with practical guides. The English guides are for people who live in Portugal or are moving here. It is a project by Firmitas.

Rules

  1. Real questions first. We start from what people actually ask, then answer from the official sources.
  2. Same facts in both languages. Each English guide has a Portuguese twin, and both are updated together.
  3. Dates on every guide. Each shows when it was published and last checked.
  4. Information, not advice. For your own situation, speak to an accountant or a lawyer.
  5. People check the facts. We use AI to prepare drafts. A person checks every fact, name and number before publishing.
